For more than 25 years, Genolier has been providing high-quality, effective care through its medical staff.
Above all, the clinic is known for its first-class care of international patients. Its specialists use modern medical technology and, thanks to their distinctive and attentive approach to patient care, have earned respect worldwide.
At Genolier, the doctors work mainly across a broad range of specialties in orthopaedics, oncology, cardiology, neurology and ophthalmology.
Who Is Professor Morel?
With Professor Philippe Morel joining the clinic, the experience and prestige of Genolier have grown further still.
Professor Morel is a specialist of the Swiss Medical Association (FMH) in abdominal surgery. He previously headed the surgical service of Geneva University Hospitals and led the Department of Visceral Surgery.
Abdominal, or visceral, surgery is the field of medicine concerned with treating diseases and injuries of the abdominal wall and abdominal organs.
Abdominal surgery is one of the oldest fields of cavity surgery. Modern treatment of abdominal disease focuses above all on minimising the trauma caused by the operation. To achieve this, endoscopic methods are increasingly used today for conditions whose treatment requires access to the patient’s abdominal cavity.
Professor Morel is the founder and head of the transplantation department at Clinique de Genolier.
For many years, Philippe Morel has been recognised as one of the best surgeons in Switzerland. His style of treatment is defined by minimal intervention and minimal tissue trauma during surgery.
In the setting of modern Swiss clinics, Professor Morel has access to robotic surgery, which allows him to achieve more effective and safer results for the patient.
The professor directs four organ transplant centres in Switzerland. He was one of the first specialists in the country to organise the European and World Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation for Switzerland. From 2010 to 2012 he chaired and led the Swiss Society of Surgery.
Professor Morel always works with great enthusiasm, and his methods keep pace with the times.
Genolier will continue to make every effort to advance in medicine and medical care and to bring only the best specialists into its team. This helps the clinic to find ever more innovative and safer ways of treating patients.
